EUSA Charity

EUSA is delighted to announce that EUSA's 2015 charity is Bottom Line, a national non-profit whose mission is to provide low-income and first-generation students with one-on-one guidance to apply to college, earn their degree, and go far in life.

Bottom Line's access and success programs serve approximately 4,000 students annually through offices in Boston, Worcester, New York, and Chicago. Bottom Line students currently attend over 60 colleges in MA, NY and IL, including several EUSA partner institutions.

Bottom Line's commitment to support low-income and first-generation students in higher education aligns with the spirit of EUSA's commitment to ‪Generation Study Abroad‬. The EUSA team will fundraise for Bottom Line, and EUSA will match the first $2500 in donations made in EUSA's name through the end of the year. To donate, please click here.

About EUSA's Charity Program

Each year, the EUSA team collectively selects an educational charity to support, with EUSA matching the first $2,500 in donations. In 2014, EUSA raised $2,800 for the Malala Fund through a variety of fundraising activities ranging from bake sales to pub quizzes.

Bottom Line Visit

EUSA was excited to visit with Bottom Line this week and learn more about the vital services they offer to low-income and first-generation students.

We visited the center where Access Counselors provide one-on-one guidance to high school students in their college search and application process. We gained further insight into the Access (get into college), Success (graduate from college, with less than $36,000 in student loan debt) and Career counseling (post-graduate employment) programs that they provide.

The dedication Bottom Line shows is so impressive and EUSA looks forward to our continued involvement to help them support underrepresented students to get into college, graduate and find a job.

Management Team Jukebox

The EUSA Management Team is putting its singing talent (or lack thereof) on the line to raise money for Bottom Line. With every donation made, you can request a member of the management team publicly serenade you as a thank you. Basically, we have no shame.

We welcome your song requests, but have selected a few songs (below) that come with a higher price tag - this is for a good cause after all! Please keep your song choices “clean”, nothing you wouldn’t want your five year old child or elderly family friend hearing. Song selections:

Our goal is to raise $1,000 by December 5th. To request a song, make a $20 donation and specify on the payment page which song* and whether you'd like Julie, Nigel, Samantha L., or Rebecca (or combination thereof) to serenade you. We will post recordings of our best, or worst, attempt for all to see within 48hrs.

*We reserve the right to negotiate in cases of questionable lyrics.
