Dublin Placement Coordinator

EUSA Academic Internship Experts is seeking to appoint a Placement Coordinator to our Dublin team. This role is ideally suited to an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with students and is committed to providing excellent support to international students.

This is a 6-month fixed term contract, working full time, in our City Centre office, from mid January – July 2025

Overview

EUSA Academic Internship Experts works with universities, departments, and individual professors to create and deliver customized, academically directed internship programmes in London, Dublin, Madrid, Paris, and Prague.

EUSA's services include internship placement, housing, academic programme development and management. The EUSA Dublin office is busy, placing approximately 500 students a year in a rapidly evolving internship market.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Internship placement: set up and manage academic credit bearing professional internships for undergraduate and graduate students.

  • Assess student internship and career aspirations through one-to-one consultations

  • Guide and support students from initial interview through successful completion of internship

  • Create relationships and maintain a strong rapport with employers through research, cold calling, site visits, and ongoing communication

  • Track timesheets and supervisor agreements for work placements

  • Database management, expand and update the database of Dublin’s internship opportunities

  • Participate in the delivery of student orientations sessions and workshops as appropriate

  • 24-hour emergency care on call duty shared with other Dublin team members

Profile & Requirements

  • Permission to work in the Republic of Ireland

  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills

  • Strong problem solving and conflict management skills

  • Knowledge of Irish business and industry trends

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Works well under pressure

  • High level of professionalism and accuracy

  • Self-starter, ability to use initiative and take ownership of projects

  • Ability to work with people of all ages and levels (students, parents, supervisors, university officials, and colleagues)

  • Degree level education and professional experience in higher education, student services, recruitment, or relationship management is expected

  • Ability to maintain a degree of flexibility with regards to the ever-changing nature of the role itself

Additional/Desired

  • Some familiarity with the US higher education system

  • Experience living in another culture
